Quartz

Quartz is non porous does not require sealing.

Color palette is very broad, from neutrals like cream, browns and blacks to reds and greens.

Quartz counters are stain resistant, and scratch resistant under normal circumstances. One thing to be careful about any spill or liquid that leaves a ring on quartz be sure to wipe right away with water to avoid saturating.

Quartz is on the same level of price as granite.

Quartz can be affected by heat, Use cutting boards and hot pads while meal prepping. Quartz is durable nut any material can be damaged if not cared for.

Manufactured surface made by mixing 95% natural quartz with 5% polymer resins. The result is a material that looks natural.

Granite

You should reseal your granite counter at least once a year. Countertops with high levels of usage, the need of sealant increases every 6 months.

Clean your granite counter regularly with warm water and a few drops of dish detergent, using a soft cloth, rinse surface with clean water and dry with a soft cloth. If you spill something, blot with paper towel right away.

If damage is small and dent is not deep, it can be repaired at home. For large areas of damage reach out to a professional to have it repaired.

A fissure is an occurring characteristic of stone, which can be weak points and can crack open but usually do not. The stone is still contiguous along a fissure.

Any liquid spilled if wiped quickly will not stain.

Because granite is a natural material and mined from quarry, usually not more than 10 feet long you have a seam. A seam in a dark color is always less apparent than in a light color. Seams are joined with an epoxy that is mixed with the color that matches the stone.

Marble

Do not use anything with acid or lemon juice. Spray counter with warm dish soap, wipe with wet cloth.

Spray water then lather with baking soda and water. Let sit for 24 hours, the baking soda will absorb the stain.

Marble has veining, and granite has a granular appearance.

Mitered, French Cove, Agee, Dupont, Deep Ogee.

Statuario is the most precious marble varieties found in Italy. It has distinctive veining that can range from gold to gray.

Marble is not the hardest of the stones, making it porous and susceptible to staining.

Marble is a metamorphic rock, composed of primarily mineral calcite.

Surface has been ground to a smooth flat surface. The polish or shine is removed leaving matte surface.

Typically 1 ¼ or 3cm for marble kitchen counters, and ¾ inch for bathroom vanities.
